Full Time Veterinary Dentist

The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University is seeking applicants for a full time veterinary dentist to join the Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service (DOSS). It is the intent that this individual will share the clinical and teaching responsibilities for the college and DOSS with another faculty member, an AVDC diplomate. The individual hired into this position is expected to have a 34 week (65%) commitment to clinical teaching and service. Clinical training of residents, DVM students, and interns is a requirement of this position as is providing state-of-the-art care for small animals. Opportunities for providing dental care in a large variety of species are available if of interest to the faculty member, but the emphasis for this position will be dental care for dogs and cats. The clinical service currently includes two residents, one veterinary technician, and one veterinary assistant. During the non-clinical time, the faculty member will share didactic and laboratory teaching responsibilities with the other DOSS faculty member; the remaining time is available for professional advancement. This may be spent in development of innovating teaching strategies or a collaborative research program specific to the candidate’s interests. Outreach in the form of continuing education for local, regional, national, and international veterinary groups is valued as are efforts on behalf of the specialty college and other professional organizations.
